The FAST (Furniture Automatic Storage) system is claimed to represent a genuine innovation in the sector, with a new holding device and a sophisticated operational methodology allowing for performances unobtainable with traditional stacker crane systems. As is explained, in comparison with pallet warehouses, the solution does away with the need for stacking objects on pallets and successively singling them out.
